Food Distribution every Tuesday 11:00-1:00
At West Avenue Compassion, our mission is to uplift our community by first meeting immediate needs with empathy, care, compassion, and respect.
Then…
Our dedicated team of volunteers works selflessly to build pathways for each member of the community to rise to their full potential. We assist our neighbors in finding the tools that they need to shape their own futures – futures forged by the promise of independence and dignity.
Moving forward, together, we empower our neighbors to grow and to thrive, confidently and with the self-respect that comes from knowing that each of them is capable of more than they ever imagined.
Join us in inspiring change. We can do it – TOGETHER.

We Also Offer Social Service Resource Connections For:
And So Much More
Our amazing team of regular and part-time volunteers is committed to helping others. We strive to foster healthy families and create a stable environment for those that we serve and for our community as a whole. Do you think that you would be a good fit? Click "Get Involved" above!
West Avenue Compassion started within its own neighborhood. We asked the community what it needed and formed an organization to meet those needs...and so much more. WAC offers a variety of programs to further develop its impact on those we serve so that they may "stand on their own two feet" and MOVE FORWARD! We've consistently grown since then, thanks to the love and assistance of this amazing community!
The mission of West Avenue Compassion is to meet the immediate needs of our community while providing tools to MOVE FORWARD.
We provide more than 10,000 individuals with life-sustaining food each month and we've partnered with the San Antonio Food Bank to ensure that those in need don’t go hungry.
